White at a wedding

This may sound odd...but it really chaps my hide when the altar paraments are changed from whatever season we're actually in to white (unless of course the liturgical season calls for white). It tells me that liturgical color and even season is not important...or, if it were, then most congregations and their well meaning altar guilds or wedding coordinators wouldn't turn something like a wedding into a queen festival of the church! (Well, I suppose in a post modern age, modern and premodern designations mean nothing...or at least they don't carry the meaning they once did, how sad.)

Weddings are NOT liturgical seasons nor are they queen festivals of the church year, such as Easter or Christmas. After all, the liturgical calendar and it's designated colors revolve around Christ and Christ's church, not around the rituals of man.
